Generative AI is transforming the landscape of medical research by analyzing vast datasets at unprecedented speeds, often outperforming traditional human research teams. A recent study from UC San Francisco and Wayne State University demonstrated that AI could predict preterm birth using data from over 1,000 pregnant women, achieving results in mere months that would typically take human experts much longer to produce. In this groundbreaking research, even junior researchers, such as a master’s student and a high school student, were able to leverage AI tools to develop effective prediction models.
